PONGAL PRIZE AMOUNT

At the time of approach of the Pongal Festival in January every year, a lump sum Pongal prize amount of Rs.150/- is being granted with effect from 1996 onwards. It was first introduced in B.P.No.5, dated 10-1-90 at Rs.100/- and increased to Rs.150/- as above.

2. The Pongal prize amount is being paid to all pensioners, including adhoc pensioners of all categories, family pensioners, provisional pensioners and provisional family pensioners. (Memo.No.38091/Q2 97-1, dated 12-6-97).

3. Family pensioners who are appointed on compassionate grounds and who are paid Bonus/lump sum ex-gratia amount are not eligible.
