FESTIVAL ADVANCE

The Board Regular pensioners will be paid Festival Advance of Rs.500/- or one month’s pension, whichever is less.

2. Option shall be obtained from the pensioners, who opt for the payment of festival advance regularly every year for a particular festival. No application is necessary every year for the festival advance. Option once exercised is final. In other cases application for sanction of festival advance is necessary.

3. In the case of sanction of festival advance regularly as per option of the pensioner, the procedure of making entry in the pensioner’s half of the Pension Pay Order is dispensed with. This order will take effect from the Calendar Year 1998.

4. If the festival falls between the 1st and 16th day of the month, the festival advance will be paid along with the pension for the month immediately preceding the previous month of the festival. If the festival falls after the 15th of the month, the festival advance will be paid along with the pension for the previous month. (B.P.No.90, dated 31-3-98).

5. The advance is being recovered from the pension in 10 monthly installments.
